“Finding ways to use the same guitar people have been using for 50 years to make sounds that no one has heard before is truly what gets me off.” - Jeff Beck

A ‘Playable Investment’ is simply a guitar or amp that you can play, enjoy and look after which will, over time, increase in value.

Alternatively, stick your money in a savings account and earn about £6 a year for every £1,000 that you have tucked away* (that’s not quite enough for a packet of strings)… or buy a shiny new guitar and lose a quarter of its value as soon as you get it home.

I’m a musician who loves to play and own different guitars but I’ve been burnt plenty of times getting next to nothing back for instruments, amps or pedals that I’ve only used for a few months.

I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one to tell everybody ‘this one is definitely a keeper’ only to put it up for sale 6 months later.

Physically, I’m located in Yorkshire, the largest county in England but I’m happy to work with you on shipping to wherever you are.  I don’t have public premises so ‘test rides’ are by appointment only.

Why not?

I can’t see why I should buy a guitar that will go down in value when for a little bit more effort, I can buy one that will increase.

I’d much rather be playing a nice Telecaster or Les Paul than earning 20p a week interest.

I change guitars on this website regularly and can usually pack & dispatch within 3 days.
